Hydraulic Bolt
A fastener used for clamping a joint assembly. It is designed to be inserted and removed by hand and has sufficient clearance to avoid the risk of seizure. Using portable tool, a pre-determined hydraulic pressure is applied which stretches the bolt along its axis, leaving the nut only requiring rotation to take up the axial stretch in the bolt. On release of hydraulic pressure a high axial load is achieved.
